DAY THREE OF THE 2002 TRANS TASMAN


The final three games on day three of the 2002 Trans Tasman provided the gathered spectators with a brand of exciting and fast touch.

The first game of the night was the Womens games with Australia having already clinched their part of the Trans Tasman having won the first two games convincingly. Game three proved to be the icing on the cake for the Womens coming away winners 11-0. Scorers for the game were Angela Barr (3), Amanda Judd, Sharron Martin Bo De la Cruze Renee Murphy Shelly Matcham Tina Elliott Louise Winchester Sharyn Williams

The second game of the night saw the Australian Mens going out again in style with another convincing win taking out the Mens series 3-0 with a 4 -2 victory over the New Zealand Mens team. Scorers for Australia were Jamie Stowe, Craig Madders, Trent McDonald and Chris Farrow and for New Zealand Geoffrey Nati and Nui Bartlett scored the two

The final game on the night saw the Mixed game again go down to the wire with Australia winning the final game of the mixed series 7-6. The Australian team were one touchdown ahead with seconds to go on the clock with New Zealand scoring to put the game into a drop off for the third time in the series. It was Australia's turn to come away victors with Sharlene Harriman Katie Curtis Rachel Reid Kylie Lambert Brent Madders Jarod Tump and Dramayne Dayberg Muir scoring for Australia and for New Zealand Roger Ratami Natasha Paura Josilina Silmaka George Albert-Jenke Tui Ratami (2) were the scorers.
