| DAY 4 - FINALS GRAND FINAL The Hunter Western Hornets defeated the Sydney Scorpions in a close and exciting grand final to win the women's 30's 2003 NTL Championship. The Hornets led nearly all the way through the final to win their first NTL title in any division since the won the same title in 2000. Two touchdowns including one piece of individual brilliance from player of the final Michelle Brown helped seal the game for the Hornets. Hornets (5) def Scorpions (3) Semi Finals The Hornets will play the Grand Final against the Scorpions after both sides won close games in the semifinals. The Hornets defeated the Razorbacks by a single touchdown in an even encounter to reach the decider. The scorpions however had a reasonably comfortable 6-3 victory against the Northern Eagles. SF1 Hornets (3) def Razorbacks (2) SF2 Scorpions (6) def Eagles (3) Quarter Finals The Razorbacks and the scorpions proceeded to the semifinals on the back of huge wins against their quarterfinal opponents while the Hornets and the Eagles had much closer wins. The Eagles got up in a tight, low scoring, encounter 1-0 against the Sydney Mets. QF1 Razorbacks (8) def Cobras (1) QF2 Scorpions (10) def Suns (1) QF3 Eagles (1) def Mets (0) QF4 Hornets (4) def Cyclones (1) DAY 3 The Sydney Scorpions and the Hunter Hornets have dominated the round games to finish first and second in pool B. The Scorpions went undefeated through the round games to finish on top while the Hornets only loss was against the Sydneysiders. In pool A two teams remained undefeated with the Razorbacks recording two wins and two draws and the Eagles placing second with one win and three draws. DAY TWO By the completion of day two of the women's 30's the Scorpions look to have the edge over the other teams as they recorded their fourth straight victory from four matches. Finishing the day with a 4-2 win over the previously undefeated Hornets the Sydney based side look to have secured first place in pool B. In pool A the Razorbacks and Cyclones lead a congested ladder on seven points with all other teams following closely on six points. DAY ONE After two rounds of the women's 30's only two teams have managed to finish the day with full points. In group B both the Scorpions and the Hornets remain undefeated while in group A the Razorbacks have one win and a bye. The Scorpions are looking especially good with two comprehensive victories from two attempts today. |
