After a massive day one at the 2006 National Touch League, the players were back for another big day of competition in Coffs Harbour. After the drama and upsets from the first day, it was anyone's guess as to what would unfold on day two.

Both the Suns and the Rustlers performed well in the opening round of day two of the Mens Open division, recording convincing wins and finding crossing the scoreline a relatively easy task.

The Mets continued their winning ways in the Mixed Open division, defeating the Cyclones 8-2. The Eagles continue to hold sway in the Mens 20's with their 8-3 win over the Barbarians keeping them near the top of the ladder.

Both the Scorpions and the Cobras showed the Mets that they consider themselves serious finals contenders after showing they also have a significant arsenal of scoring power. The Scorpions recorded a 12-4 win over Barbarians, and the Cobras defeated the Rebels, 10-5.

Pool A in the Mens Open division remains tight with Cobras, Mets and Sharks all excelling in their round three games today.

The Sharks Womens 20’s have restored their confidence after yesterday’s loss, with an 18-0 win over Scorpions.

In the Mens 20’s division, Rustlers defeated Crusaders, 7-1 and Cobras beat ACT, 9-2. Alyce Hulbert and Toni Eltherington are leading the way as the Sharks top scorers.

There have been no surprises in the Womens Open division with Sharks and Rustlers remaining undefeated on day two so far.

ACT is looking good in the Womens 20's division after a convincing 7-1 win over Mets.

An encouraging win for the Crusaders, who defeated Cyclones 4-2. in the Womens Open's. A good win also for the Suns, who fought a tough battle with Barbarians.

In what promised to be one of the closest matches of the day, Scorpions defeated Rustlers in the Mens Open division. It was tense at half time, with both teams going into the break with four touchdowns. Scorpions lifted in the second half to eventually win, 8-5.

Also in the Mens Open division, Hornets are looking dangerous after a 11-3 victory over Eagles.

The crowd at Coffs Harbour didn’t know which ‘Hot Match of the Round’ to watch this timeslot, with exciting matches being played between Sharks and Cobras in the Mens Open and in Mixed Open, a 2005 NTL Grand Final replay between Mets and Sharks.

Sharks were victorious in both games, with players from all teams providing thrilling entertainment for the crowd.

In Mens 20’s, the Eagles recorded an impressive win over Suns, 4-2.

In the Womens Open division, Scorpions played well to record their first win of the tournament, defeating Rebels 4-2.

Also in Womens Open, the ‘Hot Match of the Round’ was a fast and skillful game between some of the best players Queensland has to offer. Sharks were victorious over Cobras, 3-1.

Sharks had an impressive 12-2 win over the Barbarians in the Mens 20’s competition. Sharks player Ashley Shepherd is currently the top touchdown scorer in the Mens 20’s with a total of eight touchdowns.

In the Womens Open division, defending Champs, Mets continue to dominate their pool after defeating Barbarians 14-4.

Also in Womens Open, the Suns are still a team to watch after defeating Crusaders, 7-4.

Hornets outshone the Scorpions in Womens 20’s, winning 16-0 and the Rebels defeated Cyclones 5-4 in a close match.

In the Womens 20’s division, the Sharks are still looking strong, after defeating Suns 5-2.

In the Mixed Open division, Cobras defeated Rustlers 7-3 and Mets and Scorpions also recorded good wins.

In the Mens Open division, Scorpions and Suns continue to dominate Pool B, with Scorpions beating Hornets 10-3 and the Suns were too good for Barbarians, winning 13-8 in what was a high scoring game.

In the Mens 20’s Cyclones proved they are a team to watch also, beating Hornets 5-2.

The last round of the day saw Cobras and Mets both record convincing wins in the Mens 20’s division.

In Womens Open, Pool B continues to be dominated by the Sharks after their 8-3 win over Scorpions. They will be serious title contenders come finals day.
