| DAY 4 - FINALS GRAND FINAL The Northern NSW Eagles are the first ever women's 40's NTL champions. In a thrilling game the Eagles just defeated the Hunter Western Hornets four touchdowns to three. This is the first year the women's 40's competition has been run at the National Touch League. The introduction of the division has been a huge success with six teams competing. Eagles (4) def Hornets (3) SEMI FINALS Despite having had a direct route to the semifinals the Gold Coast Sharks were narrowly beaten by the Hunter Hornets in their semi final match. The Sharks and the Eagles were given direct entry to the semi final after placing first and second after the round games. The Eagles used their one game rest to full advantage to beat the Razorbacks convincingly five touchdowns to one. SF1 Eagles (5) def Razorbacks (1) SF2 Sharks (2) def Hornets (3) QUARTERS The Hornets and the Razorbacks have won their way through to semi final showdowns with the Sharks and the Eagles. Looking impressive with a 5-1 win over the Cyclones the Hornets look to be taking some good form into the semis. In a much closer game the Razorbacks snuck past the Scorpions two touchdowns to one. QF1 Hornets (3) def Cyclones (0) QF2 Razorbacks (2) def Scorpions (1) DAY 2 After four rounds the Eagles are assured of a top two finish in the women's 40's. Currently undefeated with three wins and a draw from their three games the only team that can overtake them at the top of the group is the hornets who are only one point behind. The third placed sharks also look to be in good form finishing the day with a 9-2 win against the fourth placed Scorpions. |
