VOTE ON NEW CONSTITUTION PASSED
Unitary Model Logo
It was a massive weekend for Touch around Australia, as delegates from each state and territory gathered in Canberra to vote on a new constitution that would fundamentally change the way the sport is managed and delivered across the country.

The vote in favour of the new constitution was unanimous, with all state delegates raising their hands to bring a new direction for Touch and a revolution in management for the sport itself.

The constitution is currently being tidied up by legal representatives, after lengthy discussion on several clauses.

An updated version will be available on the ATA website as soon as possible.

A Change Management Committee is currently being established, involving delegates from all around the nation.

They will work on how to successfully implement the Unitary Model of Management and how to make sure all see and receive the benefits of the changes set to take place.

"The decision to move forward with the new constitution and Unitary Model of Management is a fantastic step for Touch in Australia," ATA CEO Kevin Thompson said.

"However, the changes to the constitution and the successful vote were just the first step of many, we've got a lot more hard work to do to ensure that all those involved with Touch reap the benefits of coming under the Unitary Model of Management."

A media release with more information will be issued later this afternoon, with Chairman Michael Sparks set to comment on the weekend's result.

or
