Insurance - Summary of Benefits

One of the greatest benefits of the national affiliation system is the National Insurance Scheme.

This scheme, which is controlled and managed by Touch Football Australia (TFA) on behalf of its members, covers the majority of non-Medicare expenses for players and officials. The Scheme also provides the following insurance cover:

·         Personal Accident, Non Medicare Medical/Hospital ($3,000)

·         Products and Public Liability ($20,000,000)

·         Property in Care Custody and Control ($100,000)

·         Professional Indemnity ($5,000,000)

·         Parents Inconvenience Allowance ($1,500)

·         Funeral Expenses ($5,000)

·         Death and Disablement ($50,000)

Through recent research TFA has discovered that in the vast majority of cases, schools do not have such insurance and as students are not ‘members’ of the relevant Touch Associations they are therefore not covered under the TFA’s National Insurance Scheme.
