Touch Football is an affiliated sport, which is linked to the Australian Government through Touch Football Australia (TFA), the national body responsible for the sport across the country. To play Touch Football in one of our local competitions, benefit from our services and be covered by our insurance policy, you simply need to register. You can either register as a player or as a team.

Player Registration

As a player willing to join a team to play Touch Football, the easiest way is to contact your state office or your local affiliate. Lists of those contacts are available in the ‘Play Now’ section on the TFA website - www.austouch.com.au. Your Competition Coordinator will check with you at what level you would like to play and what day of the week; then they will place you in a team that will meet your requirements.

Once you are placed within a team, you will need to complete your registration online and often pay your membership fees. It is important you complete this in a timely manner to ensure you have basic sport insurance coverage. Details on the exact policy and coverage are available in the ‘Insurance’ section of the TFA website - www.austouch.com.au. 

Often teams are managed through a ‘team contact’ or ‘team leader’. Your ‘team leader’ is your key contact to know where and when your team will be playing, as well as all the information you need to know such as team uniforms, opponents each week and any social opportunities.

Team Registration

If you register a whole team in the competition, you will probably be the ‘team leader’ and you can refer to the information about How To Be A Good Team Leader to get a better idea on how you can assist your teammates through your role.  This information sheet is linked above, or you can find it in the ‘Play Now’ section on the TFA website - www.austouch.com.au.

To register a team, the easiest way is to ask your state office or your local affiliate about the procedure and requirements (contact information and payments). Online registration is available in most localities and makes the procedure simple for users and efficient for administrators.
