Northern started the match with strong bustling defence which unsettled the young Australian girls. The Australian were able to post 3 touch downs in the first half. The Northern girls continued its bustling defensive style in the second half. This style proved disconcerting for the Australians, who conceded 2 touch downs. However the Australian girls regained composure and continued with the attacking style, running out strong winners.

In a fast and physical encounter, Australia proved to strong for the Northern team. The skill and fitness of the Australians showed through controlling all aspects of the game. Andrew Baggio scoring 3 of his 4 touch downs in the last 10 minutes of the game.
