 Girls Australia 8 def Southern 0 Touch down scorers: Jarah Jennings 3, Katie Shaw 1, Kirstie Jenkins 1, Hayley Rogerson 1, Mellisa McCall 1, Kelly Goodwin 1. The Australian girls started the match in a predictable disjointed manner as this was the first match for the team. Southern Districts defended well, scrambling hard in all areas of the field. The score at the fist break was 2 - 0. However as the Australians started to find holes in the Southern defence with pressure, skill and fitness the score blew out to 8 - 0. Boys Australia 5 def Southern 3 Touch down scorers: Scott Dureau 2, Andrew Baggio 2, Adrian O'Shanesy 1 The young Southern Districts team showed great enthusiasm in the second match of the night, leading Australia at the first break 2 - 1. The second half saw a much improved performance as they strung together fluency and skill expected of the talented young men. Australia finished over the top of the Southern team scoring 4 touch downs to 1 in the second half. |
